Hmmmm... I have a set of 4 of these, or something that looks EXACTLY like 'em. Came on an '86 GMC I recently aquired... wondering Vile; what is the demand like for these wheels? And why are the called hurricane style?
-
they put me in the mind of Dodge wheels.
-
a lot of people associate them with Dodge because of the General Lee...although the trucks/Ramchargers did wear 'em for a while...
those are cool wheels though...
-
I saw them on a Dodge pickup for sale near me so that's what stuck in my head every time I see wheeles like that.

You forgot another "Team" that made them popular for the GM Family(In red no less!)
BTW: the General actually wore AR Vectors, which is the same wheel that the Buick Grand National's had.. Hurricanes were the Truck/Van wheels that the Big3 used on several of the models (I want to say that they were manufactured by AR as well).... AR recently reissued the Vectors, due to all of the General fanatics that wanted to replace they damaged originals(Too many Curb and Ditch jumps I guess! ;D)..

Those wheels do look good.....kinda retro these days but still cool nonetheless...
-
I have two sets of these. (1) 8 lug 16.5x10" The other 5 lug Doge van 15x8".
-
Blazin, what do you have them on?
-
The Dodge rims are on a dodge van I use for storing windshields, side , rear glass, headers, manifolds, oil pans, valve covers. 98% of which fit 73 to 87 Chevy trucks. The 8 lug set are sitting in the back of an 84 C20 future project / or parts truck with bald 33x12.5s on them.
-
I have some of those on this truck:

I had them on my 84 K5 and had the inside of the fins painted. They looked awesome!
-
The '84 I gave my dad has a set of those..I ended up painting them bright silver.
-
I kinda dig those wheels too. I haven't checked but does anybody know if they are available for the 78 Six lug k10s?
-
I had them in 6 lug on my K5
-
I can get my hands on some if anyone is interested. There is a truck here for sale with them on it. He is willing to part out the 78.
-
Wonder how they'd look with big tires on them? Say... 38's or so? I love those rims, they are awesome.
-
I HAD A SET OF THOSE ON A 79 ELKY, EXCEPT MINE HAD LIKE A 1.5 INCH LIP ON THEM.

Yeah, there were a couple of knockoff varieties too.
ISTR you could get the one of the knockoffs in several bolt patterns in a package-deal with tires at Sears around 1980 :P
<feeling old right now....>
