I have a 74 factory original 2wd full convertible Blazer that I have been messing with for the past 3 years. Bought the blazer from the original owner in California with 96,xxx original miles. It was totally rust free and really clean, but it wasn`t cool enough so I stripped it down and started the frame off rebuild. Here the list of original plans and the revised list..
*89-91 front clip
*replace hardtop with kayline soft top
*replace blazer gate with truck tail gate
*5.3liter and auto tranny from a 2002 tahoe
*leather seats from same tahoe front and rear,
the third row seats from the tahoe fit perfectly
between the rear wheel wells plus the seatbelts
are in the seats
*painless wiring for 5.3 and tranny
*complete media blast and repaint
going with the grey metallic on the new lexus is300
*linex the inside of the body tub
*17" billet rollers with some fat rubber
*front and rear roll pans
*bell tech 5/7 drop
I ended up trading the 5.3 and 4l60e tranny for a complete 89 suburban that is in excellent condition and runs awesome. So here`s the new list
*install engine tranny and wiring harness from 89 suburban
*install front clip from the sub
*squeeze the 31 gallon fuel tank from the sub into the
blazers frame
*cut out top part of 89 firewall were the hood hinges bolt
and graft it to the 74 firewall instead of just hacking holes
in my current firewall
*all other mods above are still the same

Only modifications I have made were the '85 6.2 that I dropped in to replace the 350, and a Dana 70 HD 4:10 rear axle to replace the lighter duty GM 3.73. I also built a 9'3"x8' flatbed to replace the old, smaller one it came with.
Future plans are to do a complete frame up rebuild, drop in an auto tranny (which it originally had), and put in an '89 turbo 6.2 low compression propane injected diesel to boost my total horses to about 350.

Its been converted to 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive with 88 suburban drive train.
it has a 350 tune port with o/d
steel cowl induction hood
93 granprix gtp bucket seats,front and rear
new carpet-light tan
frames been shortened 14 in" to make swb
2000 chevy truck upper,and lower console,rear veiw mirror with compass and temp.
the color will be radar blue, a 96 S-10 color with simulated fire on the front.
new headliner
headers and flow master exhaust

Upgrades this spring/summer/fall will include:
New front springs (from 2 to 4 leaf), shocks, and stabilizer
New calipers and pads
New Holley carb (goodbye Q-junk)
Curtis plow frame
140 amp alternator
Replace wiring that is suspect
Some interior mods to make things more comfortable if there is time

i plan on getting a flip kit and c-notching it in the rear to drop it another 4", then i'll have to find a way to drop the front 2-3 to match. also some new rims, spray in bed liner, and tonneu cover.

I have an '84 k10 w/ a Big-block caddy engine/th400/np208; 4" lift; running 35's on a set of american racing(?) rims;
rebuilt caddy Q-jet; '86 mustang bucket seats.
polyurethane body bushings; electric fans; MSD wires/module.
the following I have but not installed, yet.
home made polyurethane motor mounts
front winch bumper out of 1/2" plate and 3/8" channel for a 12,000 ramsey winch. and same for rear, minus winch.
offroad design rear shackles-flip kit
B&M floor shifter
future plans include headers and 8-lug axles to fit my 38's.
