Title: idea for my truck
Post by: the_legend_1981 on January 17, 2008, 02:48:48 pm
i have a 78 2wd stepside.  i was thinking about going with the white bumpers and mirrors in primer for now.  i eventually want to paint it the original teal green color. i'm not sure what rims to use...i'm down to the rally wheels that are on it...or i  am thinking about buying some white wagon wheels...any thoughts?  how about any pictures of a similar idea. thanks

I put white spokes on mine soon as I purchased it 12 yrs ago, It set the truck off better than the stock wheels.

IMO, I think the teal with white bumpers and spokes would look sharp.

The below pic is with my replacement bed and new fenders just sitting on it,  Started stripping it to the frame later that day.

I like the white wheels, but I have to have chrome bumpers, mirrors IMO...
Heres the original styled wheels on my old 77.

yea, when you have everything white on these it just looks too much like a work truck.  heck, when i see one it almost brings a tear to my eye.  my grandpa had a '78 C10 LWB stepside with a 250 and a 3 on the tree (later converted to a Th350).  it was his work truck and never let him down.  he had two side tool boxes FULL and a cross-bed FULL...along with craploads in the bed...that truck was over capacity every day...even overloaded it just kept on going...everyone tried to get him to convert to a V8 and he refused...just replaced the 250 when it finally died...anyhow, it was blue with black toolboxes and white "west-coast" mirrors and bumpers...he died a few years back and like an idiot i passed the golden opportunity to buy his old truck.  i even considered it...but like i said, i'm an idiot.

anyhow, sorry to ramble on your post...i think the white treatment can look alright on certain trucks...really just depends on what it is...
