i have a pvc valve on the pasenger side and a eldelbrock oil breather on the other its fine when idleing and moving around in the yard but as soon as you get on the road it poors out of the breather and covers my engine on the driver side with oil, its a 6 year old 350 crate engine WHAT COULD IT BE??? it driving me crazy
-
So you have a pcv valve in one valve cover connected to the front port on your carburetor right? And there is vacuum there? The other side has the breather in it and is there a baffle in the valve cover?
-
yes there is a vacume to the pcv valve and the other side there is the breather that is removable to add oil but when its in and i drive down the road it come out all over the motor on the drivers side
-
Is there a baffle in the valve cover? Are you sure the PCV valve is working?
-
the baffle is on the inside of the valve cover right? if so there is noting there
-
what kind of vc's do you have? Make sure the PCV valve is good, replace the breather and run a set of V/C's with a baffle. To see if you have excessive crankcase pressure pop the oil dipstick out while it's running and put your finger over the dipstick tube. See if there's pressure there.
-
what do i do if i have excesize crank cas pressure?
-
my pcv is good and i dont have pressure at the dipstick tube im just gonna get some new vc's soon to try that, thanks for the help

can you see the rocker arms through the hole the edelbrock breather is in? if you can there's nothing you can do to stop oil from coming out, except get a baffle or new valve covers with baffles. the baffle stops the oil from squrting through the hole. driving around the yard= lower oil psi from low engine speed, and on the road= higher oil psi from higher the engine speed, and it squirts out farther from the pushrods.
