Title: Grand Prix Tires
Post by: huge852500 on February 06, 2008, 08:45:46 pm
I am just looking for someone who knows where to find Grand Prix Tires. I'm looking for a specific size. 17/40-16.5LT. I have even searched the web and returned nothing to write home about. I am starting to get a little upset because I have a set on my truck right now, and I really like them(other than the fact that they are bias ply). if anyone has any info on where to get them, it would be greatly appreciated.

I had a set of those like 10+ years ago I think. Are they old? If I remember right they were a generic tire that sears sold. Nevertheless I let someone borrow my 1980 C10 and the tire blew out on the highway and they totaled my truck  :-[

I can't really tell how old they are because I can't see any DOT numbers on the outside. I haven't gotten a chance to look as the truck has been in the snow. I will try to look today, but any more hints would help.

My question would be why do you want those tires let alone a bias ply?

I don't really care if they are bias-ply. I don't drive the truck very much on the road because I only live 20 minutes from the Badlands ORV Park. I just want to find them because they are inexpensive, and they float on sand really well when you air down. The Badlands happens to be mostly sand and dirt(well, where my truck can fit) so they still seem like an ideal tire for what I need. I plan on getting a set of boggers, but they are pretty expensive right now. If anyone knows of any other decent cheapies, let me know. These are starting to crack pretty bad.
