i was searching for some wheels and stumbled upon Jay Leno's car site (an interesting car site by the way). Anyways, they were talking about what i feel is an interesting, useful, and indispensible tool:

i feel this is a must for anyone who works on cars. For the record, i can get underneath my truck completely without jacking it up---it's at stock ride hight and i like it that way. But, i know many of you have lowered your trucks and/or work on other vehicles.

Jackstands are mandatory anytime you jack up a vehicle. If you use them you won't have to worry about a rollcage around your creeper

doesnt really protect my head/neck/chest... that little bar above the headrest aint going to do poop when it gets shoved up into the underbody somewhere and the thing comes down on your head.

And since it sticks up so far I see that roll cage hitting painted body panels, getting caught on the driveshaft, etc., causing me to excercise my four letter vocabulary. I kept trying to figure out how that thing protects the body of the car until I read a little more and realized they were selling human protection, LOL.

you'd have to jack you car way up to make clearance for that thing....i agree with Vile, jack stands should be the first piece of equipment for any garage...and they are cheap.
There is money to be made for any inventor/entrepreneur, no matter how impractical. There are many people in this world who has more money than brains and when they see that, they have to have the "new" thing.

Oh, ok. i just thought it was a cool product because, you know----safety first?
i agree that jackstands should always be used and that they could be used in conjunction with the above product.
Also, yes, you would have to jack the vehicle up at least 15" for it to work and at that point you might as well get a lift of some sort, or better yet, a pit.
But until then, i still feel the product has merit.

I think there are jackstands under the car in one of the pictures. But the mfr should make it clear never to get under a vehic without them. I do like the idea of the creeper bars being used for helping a guy get up. You guys will like that too when you get older. Ha
