i wasnt going to lower my truck but after looking and thinking , i have desided to do a small drop. what is the easiest way to lower it about an inch to 1 1/2 " front and maybe 2 inches in the back? and opinions on this to please. heres the truck
-
2" lowering spindles and 2" lowering shackles
-
That is a good lookin truck ya got there. You are right on lowering it, it kinda looks like a four wheel drive the way it sits up. as said above some spindles and shackles would to the trick
-
what about cutting front coils and axel flip.opinions
-
Go for it. You've already got that truck goin in the right direction as far as looks go. A flip kit and bringin the front down about 5 or 6 inches too would give it a good stance to go along with where the bodys headed.
-
You don't really want to get more than about 2" of drop with cut coils, the ride starts deteriorating after that point. A flip will give you about 5-6" drop, so if you only did the cut coils and flip the rear would be lower than the front...

weres the best place to buy the spindels and shackels ? . gon this far now i mite as well do it write. how much are they worth?
-
I can get you a 2.5/4" drop kit for $425 + shipping.

I found some Bell 2" drop spindles at a local shop that they wanted a reasonable price for. $200 I think it was. Guy said a customer bought them but they wouldn't fit due to him having a 1" thick rotor whereas those particular spindles only fit trucks with the 1 1/4" thick rotor. What's that all about?
-
The heavy duty brakes had thicker rotors. I don't see why he couldn't just get new rotors.
-
I say buy them, the 1.25 inch rotors you can get from summit for like 75.00 a piece and you can use your stock calipers.
thanks
pat

You can get 1.25" rotors from any parts store for about $50... I wouldn't let it stop me from getting them.
-
if you don't have them yet, you'll need the wider calipers as well.
-
Thanks Chip, I thought someone mentioned that... You will need the HD calipers...

Summit, Bell Tech, DJM, or ebay. Spindles can ocasionally be cheap on ebay or you could spend 150-300 on a new set. Shackles are pretty cheap - less than $50 in most cases. I'd say add a set of hangers to the mix. You can get a set of shackles and hangers for less than 200.
