Title: Trans-Hot-Cold
Post by: Redneckchevy on February 17, 2008, 12:00:10 pm
What could make a auto trans Only shift when its hot...I just bought a Black 1996 Chevrolet silverado 4x4 350 lwb for 500$ no rust or nothing...From Down south..If i drive it in first for maybe a mile...Not over revving! But just going real slow it will start to shift...Could this be what i think it is...A clogged trans filter?

It's a 96 and has a 4L60E I assume? So when it's cold it won't upshift from 1st gear? but when it's hot it shifts fine? Does the speedo work?

Speedo works...But what it does it it drags out in first for a long long time...Till every thing is good and warm..Then it shifts hard into 2cnd...Then it will work fine..But its only when it sits over night and gets cold....
