Title: 86 2-tone paint ? 90U/19

I have an 86 C10 - Two tone with Steel Gray (90U) and Black (19).  Any idea where I can get a touch up spray can of the 90 without special ordering a spray can or prof mix? 

Also, is it difficult to remove the fleetside R panel? Does it require and welding to replace or is it "all bolt on"

Not sure about the paint...But the bed panels are all held on with spot welds....So all u need is time...a spot weld cutter...and a welder

If you want to remove the whole bed side it is all bolt on except two short welds just inside the tail gate where the post meets the floor. Other than that it is all bolt on down the front edge, around the wheel arch, along the bed floor in front of and behind the wheel arch. A grinder or cut off wheel will cut the two welds easily. if you don't have access to a welder you can always braze it or take it to a welding shop and have them do them for you.

Thanks for the body panel info Blazin and Redneckchevy - any ideas about that paint code (GM 90)?  Its the gray/black/gray style if that helps-

Check with your local auto paint supply store. The one in  my area has a machine that "makes spraycans" They mix up a small amount of paint,put it in the machine,insert the can & it pushes the paint & propellant in the can. It works fairly well for small areas,interior trim, ect. I've even used them for small jobs with epoxy primer (engine brackets,pulleys,ect.) just have them mix the products together & insert. You have to use it up within the potlife though.Good Luck, Lorne

Well - I actually found a GM 90 (listed as gray metallic) - 11oz Spray can @ autozone (at least its online)...I'll try that and see if it matches up ok - thanks guys - If that doesn't work, I'll try your suggestion Haulin -

that stuff at autozone is dupli-color truck, van and suv paint. the part number on the cans i have in the garage is "T183 GRAY(M). i have the same paint code on my 87 and thats the stuff the books said to use. its actually really close to the original color. if autozone doesn't have it, i found it at pepboys as well.

yeah I went and picked a can up this afternoon - did you clear yours after you used it monte85?  If not does it seem to be holding up ok?

i primed my fenders and doors with the flat black from dupli-color. then i sprayed 2 or 3 coats of the gray and let it dry for a couple of days. no clear coat. it has sort of a shiny yet dull finish to it. you can see your reflection, but not clearly. as for durability, it does scratch, but i have slid a fender past a wooden post and it dented the metal but didn't break the paint. i think some of my scratches are from me being careless with screwdrivers and such. for spray can stuff, i think its good. i'm probably gonna do my whole truck in it. so i can touch it up easy.
