Title: Removing A/C
Post by: 78 BIG TEN on February 24, 2008, 08:48:40 am: I already removed the compressor and lines. I want to take that whole box out on the firewall. Can I just use a old license plate to cover it up or does someone sale a cover for the hole?

Yes and it also has the blower fan for the heat/ac unit as well.

Post by: VileZambonie on February 24, 2008, 09:42:52 am: The AC evaporator is in the engine compartment and so is the heater fan. If you remove the housing you need to somehow get air moving through into the distribution plenum.

Post by: 77c15 on February 24, 2008, 09:53:51 am: I can't recall the site, and I did a Google search and couldn't find it, but somebody makes a plastic piece that will bolt right up and replace the a/c box but still retain the heater core and blower motor. Anyone remember who sells these?
