what are the restrictor things for that come with intake gaskets
-
Thay slow down the water flow in your motor if not the water will travel to fast and not have time to cool.
You are talking about small steel piece in you kit right.
some kits have the restors biult in if not make shore you put them in the right side difrent year have differt spots.
-
yes. but my motor barely comes off cold ever and that was without them in it. should i put them in?
-
It depends is the motor ever been in before or is the first time. but if it did'nt have it before why are changing the gaskets.
leaks? what as long as your staying stock your ok the same way you found it.
-
The steel pieces go in the center of the gasket, they go in the heat passages, it should explain what they are for in the kit...
-
Robry what the devil are you talking about?
Mikewb - Are you referring too the egr crossover restrictor?
-
My gasket kit hade them made to the gasket and the were over my water ports in the rear of my motor and that what my book shows also.
My book shows them in differnt spots in diffrent years so what am i wrong? im not a pro but i go by the books.
