Title: Does anyone make gas tank and spring hanger brackets?
Post by: Swims350 on March 05, 2008, 05:34:37 pm
Well I have an on going wanted ad up on this site for some but does anyone know of a company who has or is doing frame brackets to mount the side saddle tanks or spring hangers out back?

Thing is   has the frame hangers for a 4x4 front and rear but not for my 2wd, and I just ordered a DS rear hanger from a gm dealer in TN today. No one here has one.

I still need some gas tank brackets though, these are the ones that bolt on the frame with like 4 bolts, and then the band/strap bolts to this piece too. Now I seen on ebay they had some and said anything works, long bed, short bed, diesel, gas, pass, or driver's side, they all are the same? Can anyone varify?

Its been a few years, I don't have the numbers handy as i have moved twice since then. I think they were around $30 or $40 a piece.

I actually just got some of these brackets off ebay.  The dealer wanted 90 a set here.  There are 4 nuts spotwelded on the back side of the bracket.  If you spin them around to the other side of the frame they are backwards but the holes are there so you can just spot weld some nuts to those spots if they are wrong.

The one I get you need to weld the nuts on yourself.

Yeah the replacement ones don't have the nuts welded on. One of my students bought a set from JCWhitney about 2 years ago and GM does still sell them.
