Title: Question about heads.
Post by: 78 BIG TEN on March 08, 2008, 05:11:23 pm
As you all know I have a 78 Chevy with the 350. I was wanting to eventually replace the heads on the engine. Without going after market, which higher performance heads from other 350's will work?

I have also seen people giving a number for their engine...Where do I find this number on mine?

Thanks.

The casting number is on the back of the block near the bellhousing on the drivers side.

Pretty much any heads will fit...some require modifications, others require different intake manifold etc. but why do you want to change the heads?

I have heard that different stock 350 heads flow better and the ones on my truck are meant to be on a truck for the towing and low range hauling purposes. Correct me if this is wrong.
