Ok that was bad, I would hate to imagine the price of that bad boy, but it sure looked like fun.

I HATE John Deere and will never buy anything made by themever again. Pretty soon they'll be selling them at WalMart....

Anyway looks pretty cool but they sure are glorifying it. Hope it comes with a good warranty  :P

Looks like the tracks wouldnt hold up to well to what the older dozers are going into.

That was cool - but I am an old IH/Cub Cadet person myself.  I have a restored 67 cub/IH 123 and a Cub Low Boy.

That thing looks pretty cool...I could use one of those for a couple days getting my foodplots whipped into shape on my new hunting farm.

Looks like the tracks wouldnt hold up to well to what the older dozers are going into.

That looks like the same final drive and track system they have on their 8000 line of Ag Tractors. They  hold up very well.

It seems to me that there is less traction with that setup.  I would think, the more square feet on the surface (ie: the traditional dozer tracking system) the better.  It seems kind of light too.  I'd like to see that thing push over a mound of dirt as compared to the old dinosaur dozers that weigh about 10 tons.   You need weight for traction.

who knows?

I think it more of a grader dozer than a bull dozer. For road building.

It must be pretty substantial because they had it on that 15 yard dirt pan...those thing will load a tractor pretty good.

Correct.  You couldn't move massive amounts of dirt with it, but you'd be able to rough-grade like no one's business.  You'd still need a traditional grader for fine-grading, but if this machine could really do the job 2x faster, you could be saving days on a big job.

Nothing wrong with John Deere as long as you stay away from the Home Depot stuff.  We run a lot of older Deere stuff at work (mostly front-end-loaders) and you have to work dang hard to kill one.

i agree with what smitty said. i operate john deere backhoes and dozers at my work and i gotta say they are some of the best out there. i used the dozer the other day when it was in the 20's and it started right up and did its job but i gotta say that without an enclosed cab its to cold to work on very long lol

I hate John Deere. Nothing breaks or lets you down like a Deere! I had 2 410's break on me and cost me thousands! Oh and my lawn tractor is a JD and it's the biggest sack of crap I ever wasted my money on. I shoulda bought a Simplicity... /end rant.

well that sucks that two broke on you vile. so far on our machines nothing major has happened. on our 710 all that we needed to do was pins and bushings and on our 550 dozer we needed a new muffler

I guess it is like anything that leaves a bad taste in your mouth.  I have a real good friend that hasn't a good thing to say about Chevy's.  His first one was nothing but trouble.  I will never have Allstate as an insurance carrier because of the way they treated my dad.  I also won't step foot in a Home Depot because of the way they treated me.  Craftsman tools carry a lifetime warrantee but it still is a pain to go in and replace something that breaks or blood shed when the gears go out in a socket wrench.  I won't buy another Craftsman hand tool.  My $02

I hear ya zieg. My exs cousin is a Ford freak. He bought an 84 K 10 years back. It was the biggest piece of crap he ever owned. I bought it off him and it was one of the best trucks I ever owned.

Their professional Ag and Construction stuff is still pretty well built, I've just had an issue with the way a coat of green paint automatically kicks the price up :P
I'm a bit more partial to orange, silver, or red on that account ;D
That bargain line of yard stuff that gets sold at big box stores is contract-built junk, the ill-will that crap is earning them is going to bite them *hard* :-[

Blazin, I bet you wouldn't run off the side of any more driveways with it anyhow. ;D Oh I forgot- you already have a loader don't you?

Nope, I rent a John Deere 544A loader or a Cat 420D when I need to push snow back.

Proud John Deere owner here!  I took my 212 to the county fair and won the lawn tractor pull with it!
Got a 318 I mow with all the time, guess it's all in what floats your boat.
