1. Has anyone had success in cleaning the webbing of seat belts? What did you use (cleaner, applicator, brush, etc.)? Mine are very dirty after 28 years and I'd really like to clean them up.
2. What lubricant should be used for the seat mounting tracks?

1) I used Joy dish washing detergent. Filled a bucket and let them soak overnight. The used a mild bristle brush to clean them up.

2) white lithium grease.

For all the ole Muscle Cars I've restored, I usually run the belts through the dish washer. They come out looking brand new!

What about simply replacing the 3-point seat belts? Has anyone done? Brand? Source? Quality? Ease of installation and use? I found several brands while doing Google searches, but I'd like to hear what others have done before I make any decision.

soap can't help me.mine are starting to fray and split.i've found three-point retractable belts at brotherstrucks.com - six colors - $220 pair.i haven't bought them yet,so i'm not sure what exactly comes with them.

I can get aftermarket seat belts for about $120 in over 20 colors through my supplier Rod Doors

I have used brake clean and Castrol Super Clean in the past.
Soak them in Super Clean, then wash good with hot water.
As for the brake clean, spray them down soaking wet, then blow the dirt out of them with compressed air. This works good on carpet, cloth seats, and cloth door panel inserts too.

I tried all the suggestions and the fabric itself came clean, but the grease marks that I guess have been there for years wouldn't budge. I'm going to break down and get a new set. Captkaos, I have emailed you regarding the seat belts you said you can get...
-
Did you run them through the dishwasher? It usually will take off the grease too.
-
I am checking on that right now got2haul. I had email problems this morning...
-
i must be missing something.....how do you put them in the dishwasher without parts rusting..

I bought a set from JC Whitney, unless I'm having a major brain fart (entirely possible) they simply wont fit? where the retractor is won't clear the little hump in the floor. I guess they'll go back, anybody have a brand that bolts right in?
