Need to find some cab lights that are LESS THAN 22mm high. Anyone know of any?
This is for a classic (74ish) truck. The roof ribs rub on the top of my garage door now. With the slope of the roof the cab lights only have 22mm before they extend higher than the roof ribs. So this is my limit or I need to weld the holes shut.

Personally I don't like cab lights and would ditch em but what style do you have now? I have a brand new one in my garage I can measure...

All the stock lights on the truck were broken when I got it. Now I just have holes in the roof.
-
that makes it kinda tough to drive in the rain :D
Recon sells lights but doesn't give dimensions.

What is the purpose of keeping them? Do you just like them? Legally, you've got to have them (federal law), but i don't think anyone cares---especially Colorado. It's something that just isn't enforced---like riding a bike on the sidewalk. It would be easier to just cover the holes with sheetmetal or rubber plugs.
But i'll keep looking for sources, because i personally would keep them. But that's just me.

i have no idea how you will make the above two work. Are the existing holes larger than the bulb housings? etc.
Actually, what is the GVWR of the truck? If it's classified as less than 3/4 ton, you don't need them.

Here is a aftermarket Motorcycle turn signal light sitting in one of the holes.
There are MANY MANY options in motorcycle turn signals that will fit the under 22mm height. The problem is most of them attach from the rear or are too small for the 29mm holes in the roof.
Obviously I could glue them down wtih silicone or similar. I was just hoping to find other options before going down this path.

I kinda like the looks of that light.A set of those would look cool and bairly be visable.

I just got a set of Recon lights for a new dodge truck. They are clear and low profile. Here some photos of the factory ones next to the new ones.
-
I've always really liked those but I can't get Recon to respond to me with the height.
Could you measure them for me?
How did they fit over your original holes?
Thanks.
-
They fill the origanal big hole just fine but I am going to have to fill the 2 mountng holes. the new lights mount for and aft while the factory light's mount on each side.
I'll take measurments after work.
Thanks
Dan

The tallest part on the Recon lights are 1.3 inches.
Hope this helps

I just got my lights mounted today but I forgot to grab my camera, They look great ;D I made a template out of aluminum at work today and drilled them up right after I got home. They even plugged right into the light bulb socket ::)
