I'm considering putting a linelock on my truck, but I'm not sure where exactly to put it or how it works. What I'd like to do is have it so it blocks off the rears, so only the fronts work when activated. Also, why do some people need prebent lines with their kit? Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Prebent lines are for people who don't want to bend and flare their own lines. I always prefer custom bending all my stuff.
Installing the line lock is easy and I will be installing one in my 74 GMC very soon too. When I do I'll take pix but it's pretty easy and comes with directions.

Team, The normal use is just as you said, however it works opposite of what your thinking, I believe. What you do is pump up the brakes a few pumps & hold the button, this trips the solenoid, thus holding fluid from that point on from returning to the master cylinder. Not blocking the rear from getting fluid while activated, understand? Here are a couple picture's of mine. I just cut the original line, took out a 3" piece & flared the ends, the solenoid is hanging from a homemade bracket to the master cylinder studs. We also have line locks mounted on all of the towtrucks/flatbeds with a toggle switch to activate them, works great as a back-up E-brake/extra holding power when it's slippery. Lorne

If you go on summits website and look at the different line locks you'll see they all have instructions that will give you a real good idea how to hook it up...

I installed one on my 81 k10 about a month or so ago. You want to make sure you place it after the proportioning valve. Simply go to the proportioning valve and remove the front brake lines. Put a plug in one port and run tubing from the other port to the line lock. The return line from the line lock should feed down to a tee that splits off to both front calipers. I ordered mine from Jegs with their install kit. Everything works great and I can winch all day long with the thing.
