Just wandering if any of the guys on this site use their trucks to play in the sand.I live a half hour from sand mountain national recreation area,but here in Nevada we have dunes all over.
After starting my rebuild in my K10,i figured ill set it up for sand.Before i kinda was both mud and sand, but mud tiers suck in the sand.The mud around here eats metal,so no more for me.
I'm going to run 33x12.50 tiers with Staun internal beadlocks.I have not diecited what tiers yet.
Ill keep running the d44 and the 12 bolt with posi,3.73 gears in there for now.
I would love a big block but their a bit pricey.I have all the parts to build a 383.I have a 350 and a 400 sittin.
My tranny is a B&M built th350 that Ive had for 10 years now.

my K1500 plays in whatever is out there...she's been in sand before, did pretty well actually. i just don't beat on 'er...she's too pretty, can't do that to a "survivor" like her

There's a cat here named Dunedigger, he has a Silver Lake Michigan Sand Dune thread. He's pretty with it on the sand stuff. I agree sand is cool to wheel in and you got no cleanup after. Of course you actually sand blast your under carraige when you wheel through it so it's gonna be harder to keep the bare steel from rusting.

I love driving on the sand. I go to the outer banks of North Carolina between Nags Head and Cape Hatteras every chance I get. You have all kinds, from the flat tidal sand to the fluffy, bumpy, nearly impossible tire-spinning burying axle dry stuff that can cause headaches.

Digging up an old thread but I am a sand addict ;D I just wanted to comment I have never seen any sign of anything being blasted on my trucks in all the years I have been going and I drive like a mad man most of the time.
