A friend of mine hooked me up with a project(for someone else) that's really cool. All I have to do is get the truck running, and in return, I get a free paint job on one of my other trucks. The guy does good work, so I know it'll look nice. Anyway, the project is really cool. At first, all we knew about it was: it was a jeep, it had a Chevy 4.3, and it had a nitrous kit. When I finally dragged it over to my house, we noticed it wasn't your average setup.
Here's what I can tell so far.
Vortec 4.3(rebuilt/never run)
ARP bolts in EVERYTHING...and I mean everything-intake,exhaust, accessories,etc.
Ceramic coated headers
Fluidampr balancer
super light electric fan
aluminum radiator
True dual exhaust with cat-converters
Borla stainless steel mufflers w/Firehawk tips
Brand new N.O.S. nitrous kit with stand alone fuel system
Crane fireball ignition box
Crane fireball coil
Procharger electric fuel pump
700R4 transmission w/RMVB (haven't figured out the T-case and stuff).
B&M Megashifter
Carter Carburetor(don't know anything about it)
Aftermarket intake
Velocity stack and open element air filter
This Jeep is gonna be a monster when it's finished. The story on it is that it was being built by a serviceman, and he was called back to duty, killed, or lost interest(not sure). I don't know how it ended up down here though. Either way, he had some serious plans for this thing. After I get it running, I may consider buying it. I've never seen so much effort put into a V6 vehicle(besides a Grand National or Sy/Ty).

cool. Good luck!

Looks like it will definately be a hoss when it's done, keep us up on the build

Hey guys, I decided to crank the motor a bit to see if it would turn easily, and it did. But the battery cable tried to jump off the battery a few times and even left a burn mark on the battery post. What could be causing that?
-
what do you mean it tried to jump off of the post? Are you saying you have arcing when you hook up the cable?
-
I mean when I turned the key, the cable disconnected itself from the battery.
-
Replace it or tighten it. You probably already done that. Maybe new battery?
-
Sounds like you have some serious issues if when you turn the key the battery cable disconnects. I would call a priest and have an exorcism.
-
LOL...for real...my brother-in-law was under the hood when I tried to crank it. I was just wondering if maybe something is possibly connected wrong or maybe I have a short somewhere? The battery is a fairly new Optima red top. When I use that same battery in my truck, it never does that.
-
I assume these are top posts you're talking about..if so, replace the terminals. I've had three sets of em do exactly that when somone overtightens them too many times. I'd suggest converting to marine terminals and leave the terminals on all the time, just unscrew the wing nuts if you want to disconnect the battery.

Alright, I'll try that something like that. I just wasn't sure....I'm new to cars/trucks and stuff. Thanks ya'll.
