Title: My baby is gone now
Post by: Bigtendude on April 12, 2008, 11:03:00 am
Well as I have said before, I sure do miss her.  changed my avatar to reflect what she looks like now, it is a gentle reminder for anyone who has to drive their baby in the rust belt.  Thanks for all the condolences, and Ideas.  Sure wished I had somewhere to store her till I could've gotten the parts, but that is in the past.  Time to look forward.  I have been looking online to see what's out there and how much someone else is wanting for their baby, it will have to wait till I get my S.S. disability.  Then only two more payments, then house will be paid off, then just maybe, my wife will see it my way and move somewhere, where yard will be big enough to have a pole barn...lol.   Until then, I will just have to get an S-10 V6, to satisfy the fuel prices and still be able to go Bass fishing.

I feel for you but just so you know that 4.3 v6 is pretty thirsty too...

man it breaks my heart to hear about your loss. i have lost some awesome vehicles in my time and i know how bad it hurts ya, even if they were only in your life a short time.  i don't know what i'd do without my GMC and i've only had it a year.  it kills me that i can't afford to get the exhaust done like i want and to get the kit to go through the transmission so i can get it registered legally again and drive it regularly...i took 'er up the road today just to put some air in a low tire and man it felt great driving her again...

anyway, like dumbucket mentioned, a 4.3 isn't a fuel sipper.  i've had 350's get comparable fuel mileage honestly...(comparing a TBI 350 to a TBI 4.3...i know the newer ones are SFI, they still suck gas like no tomorrow)...good luck man!
