I take it you dont like the stepside beds.Looks real clean i`ll say, and a heck of a price at that as well.
thanks

pix are too small to tell what kind of shape it's in but $400 bucks sounds good! I'd personally keep the stepside.
-
a swb step side looks sweet IMO
-
Add my vote to the keeping the stepside movement...your choice, but it looks good to me.
-
here are some better pics but yes i prefer fleetside for me those fenders belong on a dually which i think looks great
thanks guys

It a 79 Chevy K5 blazer i pickup in Truckee CA. where it spent it's winter alot the top was falling apart and as you can see theres a little rust as per my wife comment a tetanus shot is required to ride in it I'm going to try to find a donor body for it I'm also think of going full topless but not sure yet. Only mods so far are a 700R and stock rallys with 33s per it had very bad white spoke wheels with 275/70/15s way too small i thought like the truck more to come

Nice! That's one heck of a deal. :)
-
Those aren't dually fenders. I would have kept the step side too. Looks like a decent deal though. Thats identical to my uncles truck he had when he lived in Arizona. He moved back up here and never drove it in the winter. His mechanic snaked it out from under me. I always wanted it, when he got older his dirt bag mechanic told him it needed tons of work wasn't worth fixing, that a young kid of 16 wouldn't be able to keep it on the road blah blah blah, then offered to take it off his hands for a few bucks. Its been 22 years and I would still like to stop into his shop and give him an education. He is still driving the truck today, Loser!
-
I vote to keep the stepside ;D
-
Keep the stepside...i love my 78.
-
If he wasnt so far away id drive there and take that complete bed myself and put it aside for my next stepside project. The trucks with these style fenders look so awesome slammed and as wel las jacked up.But hey its his truck but a heck of a deal as well..
thanks

Stepside beds are cool, but the fleetside bed is more practical for hauling. I actually use the cargo bed on my truck, it isn't just for looks.
-
That's a lot of rust. How does the inside look?
-
From what the pics show, that sounds like an awesome deal. No obvious signs of rust anyway. Mmmmmm 2wd white stepside. That brings me back to memories of when I was a kid and saw the inspiration for my desire to have the truck I have today. That was a white 85-86 Chevy Silverado 2wd stepside that a young guy in my town owned. Was only a couple years old at the time. Cragar S/S mags, jacked a little in the back, smooth chrome sidepipes (the tasteful ones) and glasspacks. Had "The Seductor" in blue script lettering below the rear window. It was awesome.
-
It's all pretty clean all stock all the way down to 8-track am/fm radio not sure if the 8-track works per i can't find any 8-track to test it with :D

Wow! I used to live in Truckee years ago. Had a 1965 Int. Scout as my winter/snow truck, with a 350 sbc and NP205 running gear (found it in a neighbor's backyard and put it back together). Once winter there I picked up a 1962 Chevy Impala with original 327 motor for free, dug it out of a snowbank (my Dad's project).
-
wow, is that a K5 Blazer i see under all that rust?! lol, looks like it's gonna be a fun rig when you're done with it...
-
;D Cragar S/S mags you read my mind I'm going with 15x12s in the rear and 15x8 in front not sure which tires yet still doing some research i want to lower it so it level and have the tire difference's give it the right stance i want it low but not to low any suggestions ???
thanks in advance

-
man i need to learn how to use the camera very blurry :D
-
Geez Louise Speed Ball, Slow Down! Looks like you'll have your truck finished and your Blazer not that far behind!!! :o :o Trying to make some of us slow folk look bad :D ;) ;D Only Kidding, Wish I could move that fast on a few of my projects!! 8) 8) Heck I can't even get out of the gate on a couple that need it the most (Sucks not having a Garage, and living somewhere they tell you no, when you stare at a car/truck for too long!):-[
-
I'm not going fast enough per i just got the seat and i had to set them in the truck to see how they will look i still have to make some brakets so i can bolt them in the truck per they sit to high. What you did not see is there is no windshield and cluster and no drivers door per i haven't got one for it yet door had to wait when i found the seats on craigslist for only $100 bucks and in the color i wanted if you can believe that! I still have to replace the bed for a fleetside per stepside not my thing still have to lower it still have alot of bodywork man i have alot to do better get to work :D
-
Hey i'm going to move my project truck to projects later ;D
-
Here are some before pics of my $400 baby
-
Here is where i was at just a month and a half ago ;D
-
Here is where i am as of this past weekend I lower her 3 in in the front and 2.5 in the rear at work as you can see man the lifts come in handy and unlimited supply of air for welding work and body work Will have more later
-
Man, nice find and great progress. I love those stepsides.
I am jealous of your shop :P
-

-
Here are some new pics of my tailtights. When i checkout Vile post and saw these taillights. i told myself i can do that after spending almost 8hrs on the right side first time doing this my coworkers say it can't be they think i'm full of it i guess it's good. We'll see after bodywork and paint! Now i know some shortcuts that i can take on the leftside. Can't wait to see it done ;D
