Title: quick question about transmissions

this past weekend i picked up a 89 rcsb 2wd that i posted a link to some time ago for $400. its got a 4.3 and a tranny that has only 1st and 2nd gear. the kid said that he replaced the 1st tranny with one out of a camaro and thats the one in it now. so what transmission came in it originally? 700r4? also will a th350 bolt right up because i probably can find one for a cheaper price than the 700r4. im planning on dropping in a 350 so ill probably wait to do the tranny when i get another engine. thanks for any help guys

it would have came with a 700R4.  A Th350 will bolt up though.
