i have an 84 chev with a 350 and hei... i recently had a engine fire and i decided to fix it. so i replaced the wiring harness cap, rotor, coil cover, (but not the coil) and wires, and i have no spark at all, there is no interior in the truck right now could that be the problem.
-
??? What do you mean? Why would having no interior make you have no spark? Do you have 12 volts at the coil with the key in the on position? Why did you have an engine fire?
-
Did the spark control module get damaged? It will be under the dash and plugs in through the firewall behind the distributor.

OK i replaced every thing, it runs, sorta... it backfires really bad all the wires are right, it has a edelbrock 600cfm that i cleaned out by disassembly. if i advance it it runs without backfiring until i lean the jets to tune the carb then it pops really bad again... but if i advance it any more after that it stalls out. Any ideas?

Make sure your firing order is correct as well as your timing.
