Just wondering if any one has any experience with hooker's competition shorty headers for a chevelle (summit part # hok-2466-1hkr). I want to find something with a 1 5/8" primary rather than the dynomax (wlk-86118) 1 1/2"s that iv used before. I don't really want to spend a mint on some thorley's so if there's something else thats reasonable and will fit well id like to try it. So if any one has any info on the fit/finish/overall quality of these or anything else comparable in the same price range Id greatly appreciate it.

Andy, I'm using '70'S Cutlass 1 3/4" headers on my Olds powered truck, they fit the truck better than in a Cutlass. I would think a pair of full length 1 5/8" for a Chevelle would fit, I'm sure someone has tried them? Maybe you can find a dinged or rusty pair that someone is throwing away to try (then buy a new pair of those) that's how I found mine. They didn't quite fit around the suspension so I removed it, now they fit fine :o ::) Just kidding! :) They fit great with the suspension in place too, those were the best pictures I had. Lorne

For the most part, Chevelle headers work fairly well on these trucks.

Cool, thanks alot guys. I compared them visually with the dynomax iv been running and they look to be pretty similar as far as length and width & general spacing requirments go so I think they will work out. thanx
