Title: tranny slipping....
Post by: chevman1979 on April 29, 2008, 03:46:58 am
hello everyone. I'm having a problem with my tranny i had just got rebuilt 5 days ago. It is a th350 non-lockup transmission.

The tranny was rebuilt with of a course a rebuilt kit, new pump, new sprags, direct drum, torque converter, and a few other things were replaced that i couldn't read on the reciept, (bad handwriting). anywase, the problem i'm having is it slips when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear, and sometimes comes out of gear when i'm at a stop...then jumps into gear 5 seconds later.  >:(

-I checked the fluid level(its fine)
No vaccume leaks, modulater ok
everything is hooked up besides the TV Cable. I have to get a new one soon. Would this problem have anything to do with the tv cable not being hooked up?
I heard this could also be a valve body problem. I don't know if they did anything to the valve body(cleaned it ect....)

I'm very frustrated and pi**ed off about this. >:( I expected a smooth operating transmission.

any comments are appreciated, thanks

Is this a reputable shop you had rebuild your trans? You need to bring it back to them and have them go through the whole unit again. Unfortunately it's not a TV cable or vacuum leak. Take it back

I called them today and they said they would look at it. He asked me what dipstick i was using and i'm using the dipstick from my th400...my fluid level might be off.... he said to add another quart and see if this cures the problem. if not, back to the shop it goes...

 thanks

Personally, I would take it back to them and have them add the fluid and drive it to see if it cures the problem, I am betting it does nothing.
