Title: The final exam!
Post by: Blazin on April 30, 2008, 11:30:13 pm
At Penn State University, there were four sophomores taking chemistry, and all of them had an 'A' so far.  These four friends were so confident that, the weekend before finals, they decided to visit some friends and have a big party. They had a great time but, after all the hearty partying, they slept all day Sunday and didn't make it back to Penn State until early Monday morning.

Rather than taking the final then, they decided that after the final they would explain to their professor why they missed it.  They said that they visited friends but on the way back they had a flat tire. As a result, they missed the final. The professor agreed they could make up the final the next day. The guys were excited and relieved. They studied that night for the exam.

The next day the Professor placed them in separate rooms and gave them a test booklet. They quickly answered the first problem worth 5 points. Cool, they thought! Each one in a separate room, thinking this was going to be easy... then they turned the page. On the second page was written...

For 95 points: Which tire? _________

Nice. Unless they had mental communication abilities, they're screwed.

Did the professor have the answer key?  If not, he couldn't give that test.  Chances are, b/w the four of them, one got it right, but, did the professor which one got it right?   I'd appeal to the Dean.
besides, changing a tire only take 10 minutes.  How do you miss a final the next day? well, for college kids, it takes 1 hours, but still....

Probably isn't true, but it makes for a chuckle.
I am going to steal my own thread here!

Years ago I was invited to go on my girl friend at the time future brother in laws bachelor party trip to a Boston Red Sox game, and after the Boston suburbs night life. Well he couldn't put together a wheel barrow my girls parents got him for Christmas one year, and his friends were about as inept I was to find out. 8 of us tooling down the interstate in a mid 70s VW bus. The right rear tires tread decides to peel off 3/4s of the tire. Well the guy gets it pulled over, we all get out. First thing more than one says is " Now what are we going to do? " I am like uh change the tire!! ::) duh! I ask the owner, you got a spare? " I think so. " You have a jack and lug wrench? " Yep I am pretty sure. " Not sure if you guys have ever jacked up a VW van? The jack has a rod sticking out of it that you slide into a tube built into the rocker panel at each and it, then crank the jack until it hits the ground then jack the van up. A great and innovative idea! So I loosen the lug nuts, start jacking it up, the rocker goes up but the van doesn't, turns out the rocker is a rusted out piece of crap. I hear " Now what are we going to do? " Uumm you guys are all sports nuts, work out think your pretty tough right? I got the I can bench press blah blah blah, and I work out etc. etc. Good, lets see you all pick this corner of the van up! After convincing them they could do it they all lifted the van up and I changed the tire!!! That whole ordeal took the best part of an hour!
