Title: Another hard one for the pros

I have another question about another vehicle im working on and of course its not a chevy..... I was just wondering if yall would like a challenge.  
Instead of a friends car its my wifes truck. Shes having steering problems on her 99 f150 2wd. I rotated the tires and the steering wheel shakes really bad when going down the road even if you hit a small one. I looked at the steering with the truck off the tires and found the idler arm having alot of slack. I changed it and it still does it but not as bad. Im getting another set of tires for the truck but I cant find any other play in the suspension and was wondering maybe someone could point me in another direction.

is it stock or dropped/lifted?

What about the shocks? Are they shot?

Its all stock yes the shocks are shot those are in the works to be replace also. I dunno if this helps but at 45mph its noticable alittle when it happens and after 50mph it shakes bad not as bad though before the idle arm swap.

Cracked wheel.  

Did you say you rotated them and it still does this?  

My first thought is, if it gets worse w/ speed, it is a balancing problem.  

tie rod ends good?

I know atleast 3 tires are out or round. It didnt do it this bad until i rotated the tires but it comes and goes with bumps are you hit them. The left front tire was in bad shape and since i put it on the back is when it got really bad on the shake. It used to only shake on a bridge my wife drives across everyday. I dont see any play in the front end when on jack stands. I had some before i changed the idler arm. Im in the works for shocks and tires. I just wondering if this was a common problem among the blue ovals like the rubber elbow i had to replace to fix a vacuum leak thats under the throttle body.  Never had this much problems with the chevy and it just turned over 300,000 and all the suspension on it is all original with crappy dry rotted tires on the front.
