Title: Engine Swap 86 350 into 78 C20

 Having problems with flex plate bolt pattern to trans. Weight is in wrong spot to line up with trans.78 C20 350/350 AUTOMATIC

If you have a one piece rear main seal on the 86 engine you need the 86 flexplate.

I have 86 flex plate but the weight is in the way . When you line up converter weight covers the hole

The weight goes toward the engine side

Please explain in a little more detail or post a picture or two. Allot of guys are glad to help, but need to understand what you got going on. To your knowledge, What is the engine out of? What engine is the flexplate from? Is this a stock type GM torque converter from the truck? Lorne

They have the weight facing trans.  I will flip it over and give it a try Thanks.

the flexplate should be stamped "engine side"
