Title: Memorial Day
Post by: Blazin on May 23, 2008, 07:12:08 am
What Is A Veteran?

A "Veteran" -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to, and  including his life."
That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact.

Just thought I would post this to honor my father John Knott under water welder / machinist Navy SeeBee WWII, deceased.
My great uncle Harold Emerson Air Force aerial photographer for re con and intelligence over enemy territory WWII, deceased.
My grand mother Phylis Emerson nurse WWII, deceased.
My Nephew Jack Knott U.S. Army Getting ready to go on his third tour in Iraq the end of Sept. 08.
