Title: Chevy 302
Post by: rubylazer on May 30, 2008, 08:11:06 pm
Does anyone know where i can get emission parts for my Chevy 1969 302 small block? I live in Virginia and i'm trying to get my truck thru inspection & emissions. If you have any ideas please respond...im in desperation.

Thanks

1985 Truck w 1969 302 small block out of a camaro z28 if im correct.

I understand the motor is worth more than my truck, but if i pull it and sell it im still in the same boat....I need to find a very good crate motor to replace it with and be able to get it thru emissions with minor issues. I would like any and all ideas...

What's the engine reside in? You'll probably have to use all the emissions device your truck came with.

Thats the problem...its in my 1985  chevy truck, but the guy that installed it prior to me owning the truck didnt hook all that up cause he didnt need it where he lived. Do i have to buy another truck to steal parts or can i even buy this stuff from dealer or somebody?

a 69 302 in a 85 truck? The motor is worth more then the truck, collectors would kill for that motor/Ya should consider a 350 and put it in and sell that 302.

thanks

Ditto.

Otherwise check the junkyard, find a complete truck and take everything you don't already have.

I would question the authenticity of the engine if you bought it recently and they said it was a 302 and you didn't actually pay anything extra.  If I had one right now and it was installed in anything it would be removed and stored.  What is the engine code on the block?

As for emissions, it would be easier if you got a donor and robbed the parts off...
