I don't have anything that gets hot in 5 minutes. It will take about 10 minutes before the temp gauge even starts moving. When I fill an engine, I start it with the cap off, and watch the filler. When the thermostat opens, you will the the level kinda surge and normally drop a little. Let it run a little longer and watch the level.

i just thought about something today, if it was an air lock (or air bubble) it wouldn't NOT heat up, it would overheat.  trust me, that motor is heating up, if it wasn't then all the manufacturers would be offering you millions to buy it so they could tear it apart and study it so they wouldn't have to run cooling systems anymore, lol

there is way too much friction in a motor for it to not heat up.

ouch!  anyhow, i just thought about something...maybe we're reading this wrong the whole time.  do you mean the RADIATOR isn't getting hot or the motor isn't getting hot?  if its the radiator then maybe your water pump isn't pumping.  meaning the water never leaves the radiator to go to the motor.  but like i said above, there is no way that engine isn't heating up.

Try out for the hockey team, you'll fit right in.

Those starters are quite heavy for such a little package.  Solid lead would weigh about the same thing. Good thing the whole starter didn't fall on ya, you'd be needin' more than just a few teeth.  Sorry what happened anyway.

shoot, they aren't near as bad as the factory 6.2 starters.  those suckers were known for breaking blocks...i replaced a great deal of them in the Army...
