curious if there is a tried and tested way to identify what year my bench seat is?
I'm looking into ordering the seat upholstery....but am told the cut is different depending on the year. My truck is an 82...but i have found several parts from various years, on my truck.
i can provide pics...if that's all it takes :-)

Seats are broken down by year. There is only 2 sets for Bench Seats: 1973-1980 and 1981-1991
81-87(91) have the buckles going through the cushion.
This is an 81-91 seat:

now we're getting somewhere. the belts definitely don't come through the seat cushions. here are a couple pics. sounds like i have a pre 1981 seat.

Looks like a 73-80 to me. If you flip it over and it has holes for the seatbelts well it is a 81-87
