I sold my John Deere thank G0D! I hated that tractor so bad! I will never buy a John Deere again. I've been doing a lot of hunting for nice rider and decided on this one:

We got the Cub Cadet Lt1050 no issues once I learned I need to clean the deck after each cut :)
BTW we have 7.5 Acres we bought it at Tractor Supply for less than 2k
25 hp 50 in cut..

Scag's are awesome mowers. i had one years back and it never let me down...

What problems did you have with your deere?
I had 100+ hours on my JD yard tractor that was stolen, and the POs had who knows how many hours on it, I put the meter on it soon after i got it, and used it for mowing my parents lawn, and a few little money maker lawns when i was in early high school, as well as clearing sidewalks of snow in the winter with a little plow, and a couple of jobs that should have been done with a brush hog, never had a problem except with the "hitch", the metal broke after 3 years of having 250 lbs on it through the winter for extra traction..My MTD (cub cadet is also made by MTD..) has been a huge pain with all of its problems..
IMO, a mower deck should only have to be cleaned twice a season (may-october)..once in july and once in september..if it requires it after each mowing, that goes up as a defect IMO..

I bought an lt1050 just a few weeks ago and love it. We use the Cubcadet for the small areas, and my 35HP Mahindra for the rest.

Glad to hear others like the CubCadet. I'm going to test drive one tomorrow. My Deere had a 22HP briggs and 48" deck. The engine was fine but it had the weakest powertrain. The transaxle was noisy and the machine was slow. The cut was never good, it couldn't reverse up hills or climb hills to save it's life. Always had one issue or another. Now they sell all those inferior units to Home Depot and lowes. At least with the CC the quality is good acrosss the board.

I've had my cub for about four years works great just ask my kids my oldest thinks I need to trade my bike for a exmark zero turn so he don't have to take so long mowing (4 acres) but I think all that mowing builds character.
-
I need more of a tractor because I have 3 large hills on my property which requires some serious leaning or you will roll to your death lol
-
I reall like my husqvuarna, 23 horse briggs, 48"...got just shy of 3 acres.

I inherited my grandfather's 5 yr old 33" Snapper about the time I got married. That was 17 years ago and that makes it 23 yrs old and the thing is still going strong. Yearly oil changes is the only maintenance. I put a mulching kit on it 10 years ago and sharpen the blades every 3 years whether it needs it or not and replaced the battery every few years.
I guess one day I'll have to buy a new one, but don't think Snapper makes 'em like they used to.

I mow 5 acres with a 1999 3cyl. diesel simplicity. It's too slow. But pretty reliable. I would get a CC if it mowed faster, which I'm sure they do. . Or Hustler. Now there's a machine!

I'm going to test drive one tomorrow.
Does that mean your gonna cut the grass round the dealer ship? ;D
-
I went and the one they had looked like it sat outside for a year so I didn't even bother. I then went to another dealer and this one was even worse! It looked like it was in a flood and fell off the back of the truck. The guy tried to sell it to me for $2200 bucks from $3800 and I still said nope. So tomorrow I have to take a little bit of a trek to get one from another dealer out in the middle of nowhere but hopefully tomorrow I will come home with a new toy :D and yeah maybe I will cut their grass! lol

we have a cub zero turn with the 24 horse kohler and it is a beast, i always mow my yard(thick st.augustine) at full speed lol, I inherited a 1983 murray last summer, pulled the deck off, added a 7 inch motor pulley, 3 inch axle pulley with a s-style clutch and with my old 11 horse it was gps'ed at 35 mph!! :o I have a 14 horse twin cylinder briggs I will be adding sometime soon, and i will be sure to tell yall about my results! Muahahahaha I feel like a mad scientist lol :P oh me and my friends are designing a "monster mower" , lifted, possibly 31 in. mudders, snorkel, stacks, and some other kool junk! It will be used to bring 4 wheelers to shame!! ;D
-
This guy up the street from me made and old wheel horse that does like 35mph lol
Anyway I got it. I'm definitely happy. The zero turn is wicked and it puts that John Deere to shame! It's too bad John Deere makes a good name for itself and then tarnishes it with these crappy machines they've been pumping out. As soon as I got home I mowed my lawn and the 50" deck, the power, and turning radius I got my lawn done in 1/2 the time without using as much gas....here's some pics

Nice mower, I have 2 Wheelhorses but neither will do anything over 8 mph. The first has a 60 in deck and the second has a 52" deck with my home made trac vac with doors on all 3 sides
