Title: New guy saying hi
Post by: GhettoBurb on December 15, 2006, 01:50:00 pm
I just wanted to drop a note to say hi. I have an 89 suburban. Although it is newer than a 73-87 it still shares all the same components.   I have a 502 in the ghetto burb. It is currently 2 wheel drive but I am planning on converting it over to 4 wheel drive. I have had a few burbs in the past. The ol truck got it's name because it has spent most of it's life looking ghetto. I finally have the outside all fixed up so it looks ok( Sans on dent in the passenger front corner of the fender which remain so the burb sticks true to it's name.) I have the headliner duct taped up currently to hold it in place and duct tape all over my driver side visor as it was falling apart. I'll get all of that replaced soon.  I'm one of those types that always seems to have a project going on. I have this burb which i brought back from the dead (had a blown 454 in it) I have an 84 mustang which I drag race, a honda xr200r dirt bike, and a car trailer I am building. I have surpassed my dead lien to have it all finished but I did accomplish something else in the mean time which takes up most of my time currently. My newest daughter was born 2 1/2 months ago.

Gee that was a long hi. LoL sorry I get kinda long winded.

Hello back at ya.

Congrats on your (human) addition to your family.

Got any pics of your ghetto burb?  You can see My 91 3/4 ton 4x4 BLUE BURB here.

I know what it's like with another (human) project taking up most of the extra money.

Welcome to the forums!  Post a pic of the burb.  We are expecting in 2 months, so I know where you have been.

Thank you for the replies guys. I'll post up a few older pics.  I need to get some more recent ones to show some of the work I have finished and the front push bar I installed. I am from Southern California out in the desert.

The last pic shows where I needed to do some touch up painting. I already sprayed it and color sanded it. but no new pics yet.

I will try to get pics of it really soon. It is actually for a newer body style suburban but had the look I wanted. I had to modify how it mounted and redrill the brackets for the bolts, but all in all it only took me 2 hours to install. Next I will have to fabricate something to mount some lights onto. I will try to get some pics  tomorrow or Tues to post up.
