Title: Hickey Roll Bar!
Post by: buddy84GMC on June 24, 2008, 09:34:14 pm
I never noticed, but my '84 GMC has a Hickey roll bar.  I think its a great looking dual tube bar that fits the truck just right.  I found out that they are out of business and I think they went out in 1989 I was told.  Anyone with any info on Hickey truck parts, let me know.  Its a real nice piece and I would like to learn more about anyone who sells old Hickey stuff or what the heck happened to the company.  I inserted a photo of it on my truck to show you!  It was on there when I bought it, but I wish they still made em.

I've got a smittybuilt chrome double/double with full length kick bars. It looked great in the truck when I put it in but it started to pit and I took it out it's in the top of my garage know I would love to get it redone along with my nerf bars I've thought about getting them powdercoated just takes time I guess. Nice truck by the way

Very nice indeed, the wheels look strangely familiar, but with an extra lug nut..  ;D

Hickey Enterprises was sold by Vic Hickey in 1979.  Not sure when it closed after it was sold.  One of his popular creations was the Sidewinder winch.  The other was the Humvee for AM General he helped design.
