i have an 84 silverado and im trying to change the pins and bushings but i CANNOT get the old pins out and i have tried supporting the door with a jackstand and have tried to unbolt the hinge from the door with still no luck.. is there any other way to do this???

I'm about to do this to my truck, so I'm interested as well...

Ah my favorite tool air chisel w/punch just try driving it out reverse to put back in.

soak it with penetrating oil and use a long punch and a hammer. They'll come out.

ok sounds good.. i will try that this afternoon.. thanks!

well i tried doing the drivers side door since it was the worst i changed the top one and apparently bent the hinge getting it out.. door hangs straight now but the whole thing sits about 1/8 inch lower than it did before and i can see through the slanted part in the front into my truck and it rattles when completely shut.. grrrr im taking it to a body shop tomorrow to have them fix it. this is why i was never savvy with body repairs.. just mechanical stuff :-[
