ON JULY 20, 1969, AS COMMANDER OF THE APOLLO 11 LUNAR MODULE, NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SET FOOT ON THE MOON.
HIS FIRST WORDS AFTER STEPPING ON THE MOON, 'THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND,' WERE TELEVISED TO EARTH AND HEARD BY MILLIONS.
BUT JUST BEFORE HE REENTERED THE LANDER, HE MADE THE ENIGMATIC REMARK 'GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY.' MANY PEOPLE AT NASA THOUGH IT WAS A CASUAL REMARK CONCERNING SOME RIVAL SOVIET COSMONAUT. HOWEVER, UPON CHECKING, THERE WA S NO GORSKY IN EITHER THE RUSSIAN OR AMERICAN SPACE PROGRAMS.
OVER THE YEARS MANY PEOPLE QUESTIONED ARMSTRONG AS TO WHAT THE 'GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY... STATEMENT MEANT, BUT ARMSTRONG ALWAYS JUST SMILED.
ON JULY 5, 1995, IN TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA, WHILE ANSWERING QUESTIONS FOLLOWING A SPEECH, A REPORTER BROUGHT UP THE 26-YEAR-OLD QUESTION TO ARMSTRONG. THIS TIME HE FINALLY RESPONDED. MR. GORSKY HAD DIED, SO NEIL ARMSTRONG FELT HE COULD ANSWER THE QUESTION.
IN 1938 WHEN HE WAS A KID IN A SMALL MID-WEST TOWN, HE WAS PLAYING BASEBALL WITH A FRIEND IN THE BACKYARD. HIS FRIEND HIT THE BALL, WHICH LANDED IN HIS NEIGHBOR'S YARD BY THE BEDROOM WINDOWS. HIS NEIGHBORS WERE MR. AND MRS. GORSKY. AS HE LEANED DOWN TO PICK UP THE BALL, YOUNG ARMSTRONG HEARD MRS. GORSKY SHOUTING AT MR. GORSKY.
'SEX! YOU WANT SEX?! YOU'LL GET SEX WHEN THE KID NEXT DOOR WALKS ON THE MOON!'

You realize that this is a joke and Armstrong never said that.

What is the most famous picture in America?
OK, i can't wait to show you....it is this picture of Apollo 11 when Neil first stepped on the surface of the moon....

I met Buzz in Wash, D.C. in '05 signing his children's book. I got two copies signed for my son.

You guys ever see that show saying that it was all a fake and done in a studio and that we never really went to the moon? lol

Teachers at my school always show a documentary based on the fact that we never went to the moon. It brings up different reasons and examples why it never happened... Seems like a waste of money to me.

What going to the moon or proving it never happened?
-
one word: Capricorn One (ok, that's two words, sorry) It refers to the 1978 movie that went on the premise that a Mars landing was all faked

Whatever.
Wether it happened or didn't happen. Who cares -- at least we got "Tang" out of the space program. ;D
(do they still sell that stuff?)
-
Yep, they still sell it. don't think you can get it here though.. I remember drinking that when I was younger

I have a hard time believing we were on the moon the way NASA can't even get into orbit 30+ years later without blowing up. Why have they never responded to the accusations? Flags waving on the moon when there's no breeze, shadows from studio lighting etc. It's actually very convincing but I certainly don't trust the government.
Tang is delicious. I just had some :D

Note Buzz's hand positions and body positions is different in the two photos, however, the flag ripples are exactly the same. Many say it was due to the folds in the flag from storage and that it would not be starched straight like cardboard.

Seriously, there is no possible way to keep that kind of secret. It would be much more likely to have gone to the moon than to successfully stage a fake trip and keep it secret for 40yrs.

Agreed :D

Who really knows how much of it was real. There's no doubt there was a mission but what happened and how much of it was faked for TV just to throw it in the Russians face? I guess we'll never know.
