Title: Post a pic of your daily driver
Post by: toplessblazer on August 16, 2006, 09:32:00 pm
A lot of you have 73-87 projects like I do. I thought it would be cool to see what other types of cars or trucks you guys drive.

I will start. I bought a 2005 Tacoma last August. I have been fixing it up over the last year instead of working on the blazer. I can't leave anything stock. Here are pics of how it looked last aug and what it looks like this aug. I need to stop messing with this truck and get busy on my Blazer.

Well, it's not exactly my daily driver, but since you put a Toyota on here I'll explain my rides.

When I'm not driving my 91 burb or 79 big 10, well, you can catch me riding around Richmond in one of my two white 65 ford mustangs, my coupe or my convertible GT......

Seeing as how there's a Yoter and Andy with his F-words, I don't feel so bad now about showing my DD

These are pics taken the day after buying the truck(Memorial Day), '91 F150, with 300 straight six and 5 speed. Nice truck to use for work while the real truck is being reworked for play.
By the way, the '73 camaro in the neighbors driveway is for sale, now THAT'S a nice ride, all original RS with only 18,000 miles. Wants WAY more than what I can afford.

I have never seen someone put 73-80 trim on the 81 up fenders. Doesn't look as bad as you would think.

Title: Re: HOW TO
Post by: conoverbandit on December 26, 2006, 04:29:00 pm
There was 2 reasons behind that. #1 I wanted it to be different....#2 I didn't want to have to fill in all those holes in the rest of the truck, :rollin  I like the way it turned out. It was easier to just fit the trim to the fenders....;)  Wish I could locate a good set of trim from a dually crew,I'd put it on my 87....

TOPLESSBLAZER  -----          REMEMBER THIS IS A 1975 WITH ORIGINAL TRIMS. WHAT WAS CHANGED FROM 81-87 WERE THE FENDERS,HOOD,HOOD COWL,RADIATOR SUPPORT AND GRILLE. BUT BODYWIZE IT'S STILL A 1975....;)

Dude read my post again. I know it is an 75 with original trim and I know that the front clip has been swapped. I was commenting on putting the 73-80 trim on the 81-91 fenders.

Thanks for the comments guys. i thought i`d show what the suburban looked like when i bought it. I got it to use in the  winter so i didn`t have to use my pickup. But it was in very good shape and only had 57,000 original miles on it and just a little surface rust. The only thing wrong with it was that it was butt ugly! :lol   so along with making my girlfriend angry for spending the money restoring it and a few maxed out credit cards i think i made a good decision. (once she saw how good it turned out she started taking credit for how it turned out>:  )  I let everyone know she had nothing to do with it!
