What is the width and backspace of a stock wheel on a 78 1/2 ton?

15x7 with 4" backspacing.

i always thought it was 15x8. and wasnt it different between 2 & 4 wheel drives?

Steel and Rally both were 15x7 with 4" backspacing. There was an optional 15x8 Rally with 4" backspacing in the latter years also, but you asked about stock and I read that as standard. The aluminum wheels were 15x7 with 4" backspacing also. There were only 2 sizes offered by the factory, 15x7 and 15x8 both were 4" backspacing. The rim size will be stamped on the wheel lip also...

here is the wheel. Its on my 64 Chevy Panel Truck. Was told by the previous owner that the wheels came off a 78 1/2 ton. I'm replacing them with Radir Tri-Ribs and wanted to get the same size, width and backspace, as space is a little tight on the rear end.

yep, they're 15x7. you can tell by the half moon cut out on the trim ring, 15x8 had a hole in a wider trim ring.

you can also look on the back side. the size is stamped on the rim.
