Well i did a complete tune up and i guess you could say that the truck runs a little better, but it still has dies every once in a while when you come to a stop. And you kinda get this weird vibration when you slow down. It seems to me that it still gets poor mileage. I know i can not expect much, but i do at least expect somewhere between 13-16 MPG and it is getting around 6 to 8 MPG. It idles a little rough, and it is sluggish to accelerate. Its not just slow, it sputters a little when you mash the gas petal. Now i have replaced the spark plugs, the plug wires, the O2 sensor, the air filter, the fuel filter, the distributor cap and rotor, and a PCV valve. A tune up, you might say. Did i leave any thing out that i should have replaced? Maybe a throttle positioning sensor? Or a vehicle speed sensor of some kind? I think there are 2 different sensors that have to do with the throttle body on this truck, correct me if i am wrong. Anyway, what would you suggest that i do next? Possibly rebuild the throttle body? Sorry for making 2 threads about this, i just figured i would update and i really need some help on this one.

I would check your fuel pressure to make sure you don't have a weak fuel pump.

Maybe you should pull a plug to see if it's maybe running rich or lean? My guess is rich.

Unplug the TCC solenoid connector on the transmission and see if it still happens.

Skunkmash, remember on your 87 that your fuel delivery is controlled by the computer after it gets voltage signals from various sensors. So the computer stores faults that it sees from the sensors. And the faults can be read with a code scanner. Capt.Kaos had a post on here how to make one if you need to.Or buy one for @ $15 from the local auto parts store. Let us know what ya find. That shuddering as the truck slows down- I'd follow Vilezamboni's advice man. He's usually right .

to get codes out all you need is a paper clip, just plug it into the jumper the A and B pin/ports of the ALDL connector under the dash.

Ok thanks i will try unplugging the TCC. I can not do it right now cause i do not have access to the truck at the moment but i will post up later about it in a day or two. As for the codes, i do not think it is throwing any cause i have a code scanner with an OBD 1 Gm plug. I scanned for codes and it told me "no trouble codes detected". So i really don't know what to think about that. The transmission does leak though. Maybe that has something to do with whats going on.
