I've got an 81' Chevy C10 that the manual window regulator has locked up on. After spending an hour to get the old parts out of the door, (which required removing the vent window and glass, etc... along with what seemed like every screw and bolt in the door) I think I've decided I'd rather buy a complete replacement door and just replace it.
I know I can buy a replacement regulator for about $40, but I don't relish the idea of having to put it all back together. Does anyone know where I can just buy a complete replacement door, with all the internals already installed?
Thanks,
Paul

sounds like a good used one from a junkyard is your only option if you want it complete. the new one's are just bare shells.

You don't have to remove the vent window to replace the regulator. Changing the regulator isn't really that big of a job and you can do it. You must have just missed a few steps. Try having at it again. As dumbucket suggested your only alternative is a used door.

I think you missed what he wrote in his frst post here. He's looking for a door with all the components installed.

As Vile said you should not have to disturb the vent window assembly at all. The rear window track bottom bolt has to be removed but the top one can stay and the track can be pushed back enough to get the glass out. The regulator should come out with the four bolts that hold it on around the crank stub.

Ditto on everything that has been said above about removal. You don't have to remove the vent window. The only place to get a complete door from is a donor.

Ok....so a good question is where can you get complete door shells?

Shipping would be killer to Canada I have a feeling.....lol.
-
I can't ship them to Canada. I can ship them to and address on the US side of the border and you can pick them up, but I can't say what the cost is, for the 81-87 doors, you can probably find someone locally with them. There is nothing "special" about Goodmark 81-87 door shells, but they do have a few suppliers in Canada.
