hey guys I own an 85 3/4 ton 2wd chevy pickup with a 454 in it. Well today I installed a new Holley 4 barrel and she runs great, only problem is while I was doing it I messed with the cruise control lever that hooks onto the side of the carb. I unscrewed it all the way to clean it and then I realized what I did, what a wooter I am. Well needless to say now I don't know how far it was screwed onto the hook thing and I am in a dilema. How does someone redo the adjustment or figure out how to adjust it back. Thanks

sounds like that's just going to be a trial by error type of thing, especially since you replaced that quadrajet the cruise was designed to work with.

Can you look at the threads and see where it may have been, assuming there are threads to see.

The rod pulls on the stud on the carb to work the throttle. Screw the rod down until the stud on the carb is in the forward end of the slot in the rod. Leave it loose enough that the throttle can close completely. Once its together work the throttle to see if it binds or hangs up.
