Post by: onecustom73 on August 09, 2008, 10:59:00 pm
my 73' 3/4 ton 4x4 looks like there is plenty of room to drop down the oil pan, just curious if anyone had any problem with these,i beleive i should be able to take out the bolts and let it down,im not aware of anything else i need to do,i hope!im going to use a 1 piece fel-pro gasket for replecment!

i believe you have a two-piece rear main seal i think. and i think the bottom seal for the rear main ties into the oil pan seal.  just my 2 cents  someone else will chime in here im sure

You should be able to drop the pan and replace it.  I have done it on a couple trucks.
