Well I'm sure alot of you know I aint been on much, well I been really busy. I wanted to post and show some pics of what's been going on. I been on this since the last couple days of July, repaint of dad's 84 c10 chevy truck and some rust repair.
It was like this....

Those were from about a year ago or so too, at our old house.
Now some new ones of what's been going on.

Spring hanger is rusted, ordered a new one to replace it while the bed's off.

Stripped everything, cab visor, grille, molding, lights, almost everything.
Cut off the old outer cab corners, and primed the inside,

That's rust stopping primer, trying to avoid anymore rust.
I also bought some flanging pliers, since I don't have a welder I flanged the old stuff, then used panel bonding adhesive to glue on the replacements, along with some rivets to hold it til the glue dried.
rocker panels too....

Then I got started sanding and priming what went to bare metal, while the glue had alot of time to dry.

finished up on the cab corners and rockers, then primed them....

While doing this I found a can of timber wolf chew from 2005 in the cab corner on the driver's side and some sunblock from probably 84 LOL

-
Lookin good! Keep posting pix as you progress!
-
keep up the hard work man it will be worth it when you get done
-
sorry I haven't posted yet guys been busy on it and got pics, need to get more and post. The inside is painted, and I'm trying to finish up on the pass. fender and door, plus a dent in back of the cab, and the emblem holes. Once that's done it's time to wet sand and paint the cab and front end. Hood has to be wet sanded and it's ready. Got to replace the hanger still, and clean/paint the frame with zero rust gloss black.
Definately watch for updates guys, should have more pics in the next few days.
-
Where did you get the panel glue or useing and whats it call i might try that how well dose it work ;D
-
I like the marquee tent,i have the very same one but its a bit battered and torn with the gales we had last year...if that adhesive is anything like tiger seal those panels will be on for good.. ;D
-
It's called silaprene and it's pretty strong stuff, says the bond gets stronger with age. It's tough enough as it is lol
-
guys bare with me, I can't get photobucket to let me upload and I don't get much time to get on anymore.

Dragon Ball Z For the Win!
-
Looks good, keeping the same color? I like the Blue and there is just something about scoops on a truck hood that get my blood pumping. Keep up the good work.
-
well photobucket is wprking now and I have to get new pics on here. the cab and front end is painted and done, going to start on the bed soon and then paint it, but first put all the cab and underhood back together. Here's some pics from a week or so ago of the inside.

Those cab corners look great! Great lookin job man!
-
thanks next up is to put it all back together and then the bed.
-
Wow, the progress you are making is indeed amazing. Good job!! The white will look sharp for sure. I guess you're not worried about the overspray, since you go back over those areas with the black?
-
yea I knew I was going to do them black so I wasn't worried about over spray, however underhood was covered up because I sanded the inner fenders before paint.
-
New pics...

I got the door panels ready to go, customized also, left them off to tint the windows. Those are done in 5 percent black tint, and had to repaint the back of the cab and hood. I got some dirt and water spots in the hood and went back to blue to get rid of them. Paint was too thin on some edges on back of the cab, now they are all finished up. I also wet sanded the fenders, going to buff them, then the doors, clean paint the frame, and replace the spring hanger. Keep looking back for more pics.
-
your making great progress! keep up the good work!
-
What color of white is that? It looks like it dang near glows in the dark. ;D My old 77 was painted Ford ultra white, because it was the brightest white the paint guy could come up with. On a cloudy day it almost seemed the truck glowed.
-
MAN that is looking GREAT!! Nice work!!
-
It's limco hi strength white. it's bright. My monte carlo ss is the same color.
I got started on the bed now, painted the frame, got to sand and buff the hood yet and around the back window. More pics soon guys.
-
Here's new pics...
bed's done except for buffing, and it's all back on the truck now. more pics soon.
I custom painted the taillights and put in a roll in bed liner with custom bowtie.

heres an older pic before we switched motors and wheels..
We gotta find a th350 long tail for it, seems to be acting up, not getting enough pressure, like an internal leak or soemthing, and got a set of 3.90 rear gears coming for it. The trans worked fine, but now with a shift kit in it and a 2k stall it seems to be acting worse and worse, but it had some black junk in the pan when we done the shift kit, and the b&m instructions call for type f or trick shift and it has type f in it. Hasn't been right since, but in the mcss I had the same stall convertor and ran a th350 short tail with the same kit and type f and its perfect. This ones just shot. It's been changed before because it's not lockup and it has TSC on it, transmission controlled spark. Some kinda junk on the ps or it. I've been checking locally but no luck and have posted everywhere I can think of to find another one.
