All,
This is my first post so forgive me if this is in the wrong section. I have a 75 k10 4x4 that I am wanting to convert from an a/c truck to a non a/c truck. Does anyone know where I can find info on how to do this? Has this been discussed on this site? Can you reply w/the links to the thread? Also... does anyone know of a kit to do this? I know w/my 67 Chevelle there was a company that made a block off plate for the firewall for doing this conversion. So it was pretty straight forward. Does anyone know of such a kit for my truck?
Thanks for you thoughts in advance,
Herb

Yes this has been discussed several times. There is a search feature on the board but here is an AC delete box for our trucks.

You could also find a donor without A/C and rob it of the parts and make a template of the firewall, weld yours up accordingly and cut the new holes.

Thanks! That link is just what I needed.
Thanks for all the help! I hope I can contribute as well.

3M black sealant, is that the same stuff GM uses to seal the box to the firewall? I want to be sure and use the correct stuff so the next owner has the same troubles as I did getting that goey junk off the firewall :) Chemicals seem to just make it slimier, sanding is a lost cause, wire brushing takes eons but seems to work the best. Any other idea's?? Didn't mean to Hijack the thread Herb, but you may be wondering how to get that stuff off easy as well:)

A gasket scraper and a flap disk should take most of it off with no problem.
I use butyl (dum dum) tape to reseal them.
