Title: 1985 c/10 some rust problems

Alright so I'm new to the whole rebuilding thing I bought a 85 c/10 to rebuild for my first truck/car and i have two or three spots of ruts on the roof of my truck and i was wondering what advice you guys could give me about removing it.

Is it surface rust or holes. As far as light surface rust a good 80, then 180 sanding with a DA, Sand the old finish, then coat the rust with Chassis Saver. prime any clean bare metal with a self etching primer, then prime the whole thing with a high build urethane primer. Sand with 400 grit, and paint.
If its holes you will need to weld in new metal.

thanks man i appreciate it and there isn't any holes as far as i know but i haven't looked everywhere
