I have a 1980 1/2 ton 4x4 with a manual transmission and is powered by a GM 383 full roller with aluminum dart angle plug heads. I am having zero luck in finding a set of headers that will fit and clear my plugs. I did find one person that said his ceramic block hugger headers would work on my motor and truck but they do not. They clear my plugs great but they hit my frame right underneath my motor mounts and I have maybe an inch of clearence between my frame rails. Does any make a set of ceramic headers that will fit this truck. I would prefer not to have block huggers.

to really do that motor justice you need long tubes i put the schoenfield headers on and clearenced the frame.

Do those headers fit angle plug heads and what do you mean by frame clearance? I already had this frame blasted and already had it painted so I really don't want to do any modifying on my frame at all if I can avoid it. I would greatly appreciate any help on this I'm getting very excited about this truck. I have been working on this for two years and I'm one set of headers away from being able to finally put the cab and clip on and must importantly tear some tires up!

I'm sure he meant that the headers he used cleared the frame without hitting.

nope i wish it was easy, but it never is i looked everywhere for headers to fit angle plugs and clear the frame and nothing, nada, zero so i went with the long tubes and lightly trimmed the frame and fits like butter. sorry that i couldn't help you
