Title: lowring my 87
Post by: chevy87truck on September 21, 2008, 03:07:36 pm
i just got my 2 inch lowering blocks for the rear, now i want to lower it about 2-3 inches in the front. if anyone has any pictures of a swb with a similar lowering kit on it i would greatly appreciate it.
BUT..what kind of springs should i get, i noticed a guy on here a few days ago said he bought the summit brand drop coils and they were made by ground force. what should i do?

I'm confused -- you say you just got your lowering blocks.  Does the truck already have a flip kit installed?  The stock setup is the leaf springs are on top of the axle.  Installing 2" blocks will lift the rear 2", rather than lower it.  If the leaf springs are already under the axle, then yes, the blocks will lower the rear another 2".  How is your truck currently set up?

Ditto!, what he said.
I can get McGaughy's stuff, but I have heard there are fitment issues with them and 15" wheels, so they aren't in the catalog.

Yeah lowering blocks will lift your truck. Use shackles in the rear and spindles for the front if you only want 2-3"
