Title: shortie headers that fit???
Post by: Swims350 on September 27, 2008, 04:04:18 pm
Does anyone know of a set of short headers for an 84 c10 with a th350 and 305, that will hook up to stock y pipe, but does NOT have air tubes or any other smog crap? I'm looking for some cheapies, something under says $175? Any others work off a car or another truck for sure????

You can make the 88-95 shorties work pretty good. The O2 bung may need to be clearanced but they will fit. You will have to modify the Y pipe. I really don't know of any that are direct bolt in to the stock Y pipe that are cheap.

ok I'll stick with the full lengths then and buy some pipe and new mufflers.

There isn't any headers out there that will mate to the stock Y setup.  I looked.  I ended up getting the Thorley headers.  Of course the Y-pipe they sent me didn't work so I am building my own now...
They do have Headers and Y's system that will join with the stock outlet, but they are NOT cheap.

Edelbrock sells direct fit ones. Not sure how direct fit they really are but they aren't cheap either.
