Title: Defog options?
Post by: vince311 on October 02, 2008, 06:06:00 pm
i'm starting to use my 82 SWB as a daily driver. Over the last couple days, I've realized how crappy my defrost is working. The windows fog up...and stay that way.

Anyone have a good system or treatment for this? My heater/defroster...while set to cold...eventually works. Course, I have the handy old t-shirt :-)

There used to be some anti-fog stuff on the market...not sure how well it works though.

You don't have a water leak do you?  Mine works fine.  I would clean the windshield really good.  RainX has some ant-fog wipes.  I haven't used them but I do use rainX.

Does your truck have AC? I agree clean the glass really good and make sure the cab is dry.

No A/C  :(....  Cleaned the glass with a vinegar/water solution today. Oddly enough, whenever the window fogs....a weird stain shows up on the window...like something was sprayed and then dripped down the window.  ???   I've tried a couple different chemicals to remove this...with no luck. I have no idea what it could be. I imagine some kind of cleaner??

I'm going to be checking for leaks...per Chris' recommendation. Obviously, any moisture in the cab will create more fog on the glass.
